The art of travel

The art of travel had as starting point the homonymous book by the philosopher Alain de Botton, in which the artist found ideas very close to her own work process – the travel, the preparation, landscape, life, chance, art and happiness.
    

All the journeys (2013). Work composed of 2002 baroque pearls, 1001 silk threads, silk fabric, a waterbed, light and a fan. These are pearls from the China seas, with a naturally irregular surface, which creates differences among them.
    

Plane-dreaming #1-12 (2012). Twelve drawings in China ink on rice paper, with a shape of airplane windows. In each window, a baroque pearl. The drawings were painted by Lin Qin (林禽) using a traditional Chinese technique, and signed and stamped by Ana Pérez-Quiroga.
    

De noite na cama, eu fico pensando (2012). White pillowcases with embroidered phrases made from the literary work by Alain de Botton.
